Job Summary:
We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Inventory Control Specialist to manage and maintain the accuracy of our inventory in our Madison, Wisconsin facility. This role is vital to our logistics operations, ensuring that we have the right products, in the right quantities, at the right time. You will be responsible for implementing and overseeing inventory control procedures, conducting audits, and identifying discrepancies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of inventory management principles and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control procedures and policies.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to verify stock levels.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly and accurately.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage and maintain the warehouse management system (WMS) for inventory accuracy.
  • Coordinate with receiving, shipping, and operations teams to ensure smooth inventory flow.
  • Implement strategies to minimize stockouts, overstocks, and obsolescence.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and the proper use of PPE.
  • Prepare detailed reports on inventory levels, accuracy, and variances for management.
  • Optimize warehouse layout and storage methods for efficient inventory management.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.
  • Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to all company safety guidelines, including wearing appropriate PPE.
