Janitor/Cleaner

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor/Cleaner to maintain cleanliness and safety across our facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in various cleaning and custodial tasks, ensuring a hygienic and well-maintained environment for staff and visitors. This role involves performing routine cleaning, floor care, and basic maintenance duties to uphold high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal in designated areas
• Conduct floor care activities such as buffing, polishing, and carpet cleaning to maintain a professional appearance
• Handle custodial tasks for commercial spaces, ensuring all areas are sanitized and organized
• Assist with facilities maintenance tasks, including minor repairs and upkeep of equipment
• Use appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and effectively
• Maintain cleaning supplies inventory and notify management when supplies need replenishing
• Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all staff and visitors
• Support industrial cleaning projects as needed, including high dusting or specialized cleaning procedures

Skills

• Proven experience in janitorial or custodial work, with knowledge of commercial or industrial cleaning techniques
• Familiarity with floor care procedures such as buffing, polishing, and carpet extraction
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on thoroughness in cleaning tasks
• Good organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities effectively
• Physical stamina to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to safety standards
• Prior experience in residential painting or facilities maintenance is a plus but not required
