Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable, skilled, and proactive Facilities Maintenance Technician to keep our new, air-conditioned SMT manufacturing facility running smoothly and safely. This is a true building-systems role — you will be responsible for the facility itself (electrical, plumbing, general repairs, etc.), not the production/SMT equipment. (Any ability to occasionally assist with production equipment would be a bonus, but is not required or expected.)

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed daily inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems (lighting, doors/hardware, plumbing fixtures, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot and repair commercial electrical systems safely (beyond basic residential level)
  • Handle plumbing repairs and maintenance (unclog drains, replace fixtures, repair leaks, water heaters, flush valves, minor pipe runs, etc.)
  • General carpentry and building repairs (patch drywall, paint, repair doors/locks, ceiling tiles, minor framing)
  • Assemble and install shelving, whiteboards, TV mounts, signage, office furniture, etc.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff
  • Coordinate with licensed contractors when work is outside scope or requires permits
  • Maintain accurate logs of work performed, parts used, and safety checks
  • Keep mechanical rooms, storage areas, and tools organized and clean
  • Assist with vendor escorts, seasonal preparations, and light grounds tasks as needed

Skills

  • 5+ years of commercial or industrial facilities maintenance experience
  • Strong electrical skills beyond basic residential work — comfortable diagnosing and safely repairing commercial systems
  • Solid plumbing knowledge (PEX, copper, PVC, commercial fixtures)
  • Ability to safely operate hand/power tools, scissor lifts, and basic test equipment (multimeter, etc.)
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work from ladders or lifts
  • Basic computer skills for work-order systems and email
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
  • Professional demeanor and strong communication skills

Preferred (but not required)

  • EPA 608 certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience with building automation systems
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification
  • Any familiarity with SMT/production equipment (helpful but not expected)

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required
  • Prefer English or bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test
  • Must pass criminal background check (no federal offenses; must meet Foreign Trade Zone – FTZ – security requirements)
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. required (U.S. citizenship or permanent residency only – no visa sponsorship)

Schedule & Compensation
