General Description: The position involves the repetitive weighing of soil/rock powders for the chemical laboratory.

Education: High School Diploma

Hours: Day Shift (8:00am-4:00pm) position, extended hours may be required

Requirements·

  • Exhibit strong organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Demonstrate initiative, reliability and common sense
  • Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure
  • Ability to meet deadlines and targets
  • Good manual dexterity and basic computer skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and participate as a team member as required
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Work safely and conscientiously consistent with Company Policies
  • Compliance with the company's Health & Safety and Professional Conduct Policies

Responsibilities

May include some or all of the following; or any other tasks assigned directly or indirectly by the department manager

  • Complete and maintain required logs
  • Label samples received, test tubes and package boxes
  • Sort samples
  • Ability to follow written or verbal instructions to weigh samples for analysis
  • Archive samples and record location
  • Weigh samples using a decimal balance
  • Catalogue and inventory all samples after work is complete
  • Maintain and report equipment issues as they relate to sample weigh and production related issues
  • Communicate effectively with team members
  • Maintain departmental housekeeping
  • Assist in ensuring turnaround time meets client's requirements
