Role Description

This is a contract-based hybrid role for a Database Specialist. The position is based in Ottawa, ON, with flexibility for some remote work. The Database Specialist will manage database architecture, ensure the security and integrity of databases, design and implement database systems, and collaborate with cross-functional teams. The role also involves analyzing data requirements, optimizing database performance, and handling data modeling and storage solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience in Database Administration and comprehensive knowledge of Databases
• Proficient in Database Design and Data Modeling
• Strong Analytical Skills, with the ability to identify and resolve database-related issues effectively
• Knowledge of database security practices and optimization techniques
• Familiarity with cloud database platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus
• Ability to work collaboratively in both in-office and remote environments
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Industry certifications such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, or related database technologies are desirable
