Job SummaryThe Pediatric COTA works under a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide therapeutic services to infants, children, and adolescents to improve their ability to perform daily activities, learn, and play. This role focuses on implementing individualized treatment plans, fostering independence, and supporting developmental goals in various settings, such as homes, schools, or clinics. Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Therapy Implementation:Carry out OT treatment plans, including fine motor activities, sensory integration, motor planning, and daily living skills (feeding, dressing).
  • Patient/Family Education:Instruct children, parents, and caregivers on techniques and strategies to support skill development at home.
  • Monitoring & Documentation:Observe and record patient progress, behaviors, and responses, reporting findings to the supervising OT.
  • Material & Environment Management:Prepare therapy spaces, maintain equipment, organize supplies, and ensure a safe, functional treatment area.
  • Collaboration:Work as part of an interdisciplinary team, communicating with OTs, teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Skill Development:Lead interactive games and activities (e.g., building, matching, cutting) to build coordination, socialization, and self-help skills.
  • Administrative Support:Assist with scheduling, paperwork, and clerical tasks as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Associate's degree from an accredited OTA program.
  • Valid state licensure/certification as a COTA.
  • Experience with pediatric populations and developmental delays.
  • Strong communication, empathy, creativity, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of typical child development and therapeutic interventions.

Work Environment

  • May involve travel to homes, schools, or community settings.
  • Requires physical ability for positioning, bending, lifting, and supporting patients.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, PRN

Pay: $ $30.00 per hour
