Position: Operations Manager
Reports To: Executive Director
Schedule: Full-Time (some weekends and evenings based on program needs)
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable Full-Time Operations Manager to support the daily operations of the organization. The duties and responsibilities of the Operations Manager of Somos, Inc. are in accordance with the guidelines issued by New York State Laws for Nonprofit Organizations. As an employee of Somos Inc., the Operations Manager is responsible for supporting the Executive Director with the planning and development of Somos Inc.'s operational objectives, initiatives, and mission. As such, the Operations Manager reports directly to the Executive Director.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Serve as primary support staff for the Executive Director of Somos, Inc.
· Maintain physical operations of the organization as it relates to facilities, technology solutions, and phone systems.
· Assist in the oversight of the day-to-day operations of the organization and assist with the supervision of intern(s)
· Ensure compliance with all legal mandates, including federal, state, local laws and regulations.
· Organize, maintain, and when needed procure event supplies office supplies.
· Support and assist the Executive Director with preparation for meetings, hearings, events, outreach, and other activities.
· Support and assist the Executive Director with special projects and other significant initiatives.
· Other duties as assigned.
· Ensure the health, safety, and environmentally responsible movement of people and goods.
· Oversee activities related to event registration, execution, and logistics for volunteer staff.
· Serve as staff/volunteer liaison and assist in the creation of a recruitment strategy, volunteer management database, and volunteer orientations.
· Support Volunteer Management by working with the Executive Director on identifying volunteer needs for the event, recruiting and training volunteers and planning volunteer orientations.
· Assist in the management of the day-to-day operations and functions related to all official Somos Inc events.
· Provide critical support for events and organizational support functions.
· Assist in the planning, updating & maintaining of marketing plan, website & social media pages.
· Detail-oriented, strategic, and collaborative with strong organizational, strategic, and relationship building skills.
· Partner with the Executive Director to ensure strong planning, project management, communication, and relationships to achieve goals and fulfill the mission of Somos, Inc.
· Prepare briefings, compile data, produce reports and track projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
· At least 2-3 years of administrative, managerial, or performing activities related to the duties of the position.
· An associate's degree from an accredited college or 4+ years performing activities related to the duties of the position.
· Ability to communicate highly affects sensitive, and complex information clearly and succinctly, both orally and in writing.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
· Excellent investigative skills, communications skills, strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
· Excellent supervisory, administrative, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to build and maintain partnerships.
· Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred.
Compensation
· $50,000 - $55,000
o Salary range includes $5,000 towards medical insurance contribution built in)
· Personal Time off (PTO) 10 days after 90 days of employment
· 5 Sick days
· Federal Holidays off
Pay: $55,000.00 per year
