Job Overview

T. Stevens Construction (including our outdoor living division, Pier Michigan Decks) is seeking 1–2 motivated, skilled carpenters to join our growing team. We specialize in high-end residential remodeling and custom outdoor living spaces, including structurally engineered decks, helical pier foundations, framing, and detailed finish work.

This role is ideal for a carpenter who takes pride in quality, enjoys problem-solving on site, and wants to be part of a tight-knit, professional crew building projects that are designed right, built right, and built to last.

Responsibilities:

• Measure, cut, assemble, and install framing, decking, trim, cabinetry, and structural components using hand and power tools
• Perform structural carpentry including deck framing, beams, joists, stairs, and guard systems
• Assist with and/or lead installation of helical pier foundations, footings, and structural supports
• Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications to execute work accurately
• Install doors, windows, hardware, railings, and finish components with attention to detail
• Perform selective demolition, site preparation, and jobsite cleanup
• Work closely with the project lead to maintain quality, efficiency, and jobsite safety
• Communicate clearly with crew members and leadership to keep projects moving smoothly
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite at all times

Requirements:

• Proven experience in residential construction, carpentry, or remodeling
• Strong working knowledge of hand and power tools
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and measurements
• Experience with deck construction, framing, or exterior carpentry is a strong plus
• Understanding of jobsite safety practices and willingness to follow company standards
• Physical ability to lift materials, work outdoors, climb ladders, and perform hands-on carpentry tasks
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and pride in craftsmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
