IT Support Specialist

St. Louis County Government's Department of Information Technology has immediate openings for two part-time IT Support Specialist professionals to join their team in Clayton, Missouri. These roles will assist with day-to-day technology needs across the organization. This role provides hands-on support for hardware, software, and networking systems, ensuring County employees have the tools and resources needed to perform their work effectively.

The starting salary range for this position is between $ $25.79 per hour, depending upon the candidate's qualifications as well as budgetary considerations. This position is also eligible for Paid Time Off in accordance with hours worked as well as holiday pay if they work 20 or more hours a week.

• Provide support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other equipment.
• Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software applications.
• Perform routine system updates, patching, and equipment checks
• Troubleshoot network and connectivity issues, escalating as needed
• Assist with equipment setup for new hires and office relocations
• Maintain accurate documentation of support activities, inventory, and procedures
• Provide any other IT support when required.

Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field

Or

Two (2) years of work experience in information technology support

SELECTION AND APPOINTMENT: A selection committee will evaluate the qualifications of each applicant which will include recentness and appropriateness of the applicant's education and experience, answers to the supplemental questions, results of employment references investigated and any other appropriate information available.

The selection committee will admit to the interview only those persons who possess the most job-related qualifications and may establish admittance criteria beyond the minimum qualifications stated above. The interview will comprise 100% of the applicant's earned grade. A candidate must earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more on the interview to be eligible for appointment. After initial interviews with the selected candidates are conducted, an email will be sent to the address on file with instructions on how to complete and submit a Conviction Questionnaire. Candidates have 3 days to complete the required questionnaire.

The five top ranking candidates, based on the final grade, will be certified to the Department Director/Appointing Authority who will make the final decision.

All applicants conditionally offered a merit position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Screening will be performed by a reputable clinical laboratory. The cost of screening will be covered by the County.

Part-time employees receive pro-rated PTO (Paid Time Off) and holiday pay if they work 20 or more hours a week.
