We are seeking an organized and efficient Shipping Clerk to join our Philadelphia, Pennsylvania team. This position is crucial to our logistics operations, ensuring that all outgoing shipments are accurately processed, documented, and dispatched on time. As a Shipping Clerk, your duties will include preparing shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, verifying shipment contents, and maintaining shipping records. You will play a key role in ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of products to our customers. Workplace safety is a top priority, and you will be required to adhere to all safety procedures and use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). While this role may not involve heavy lifting as frequently as other positions, the ability to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally is necessary, along with good manual dexterity. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and print shipping labels and documentation.
- Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Verify outgoing shipments against orders and invoices.
- Inspect packages for proper sealing and labeling.
- Accurately record shipping data and maintain logs.
- Communicate with internal departments and external partners regarding shipments.
- Ensure the shipping area is organized and maintained.
- Follow all safety regulations and utilize required PPE.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in logistics or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in a shipping, receiving, or logistics role is required.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and computer systems.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to upholding safety standards.
