Custodian

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to perform a variety of cleaning tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming in designated areas.
• Maintain floors through buffing, waxing, and polishing to ensure they are in excellent condition.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas regularly.
• Handle waste disposal and recycling according to established procedures.
• Conduct minor maintenance tasks as needed to support overall facility upkeep.
• Assist with industrial cleaning projects as required.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel promptly.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure all cleaning assignments are completed efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications

• Previous custodial or janitorial experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with commercial cleaning techniques and equipment is advantageous.
• Knowledge of floor care practices including buffing and maintenance is desirable.
• Experience in facilities maintenance or porter roles is a plus.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
