Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. This vital role offers an exciting opportunity to support a wide range of legal practices, including estate planning, environmental law, litigation, immigration law, family law, securities law, tribal law, patent law, and more. Duties
- Assist attorneys with case preparation by conducting legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools.
- Manage and organize legal documents using document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw; review and file documents accurately.
- Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents including contracts, pleadings, memos, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
- Support litigation processes through document review, case file management, and data entry; coordinate discovery efforts and track case deadlines.
- Conduct client interviews and gather pertinent information for estate planning, family law cases, or immigration matters to ensure comprehensive case files.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, courts, vendors, and internal teams via professional phone etiquette and organizational skills.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and supporting executive administrative functions.
- Support special projects related to environmental law, tribal regulations, patent filings or securities compliance as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all legal procedures by proofreading documents for accuracy and transcribing key information when necessary.
Skills
- Proven experience as a paralegal with familiarity in multiple practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, landlord-tenant law, and immigration law.
- Strong research skills utilizing Westlaw and LexisNexis to gather relevant case law and legal information efficiently.
- Proficiency in legal case management software such as PCLaw and document management systems like iManage; adept at data entry and document review.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting legal documents; meticulous proofreading to ensure accuracy in all materials produced.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with excellent organizational skills; experience in project management is a plus.
- Knowledge of UCC (Uniform Commercial Code) laws and familiarity with contracts drafting is desirable.
- Experience supporting litigation processes including document review and discovery coordination.
- Strong clerical experience including filing systems and administrative support within a busy law office environment.
