About the Role

Join the heart of the house at 5 Oceans Restaurant As a Prep Cook, you are the foundation of our chef-driven kitchen. You will ensure our line is locked, loaded, and ready for a 90-seat service. We are looking for focused, reliable individuals who take pride in the \"mise en place\" philosophy and are eager to grow within our coastal hospitality culture.

Responsibilities

• Precision Prep: Execute daily prep lists with speed and accuracy (chopping, portioning proteins, and preparing house-made sauces).
• Quality Control: Ensure all ingredients meet 5 Oceans' freshness standards and are labeled/rotated according to Compliance (FIFO).
• Station Support: Set up workstations for Line Cooks to ensure seamless execution during peak rushes.
• Collaboration: Actively assist in kitchen cleanliness, dish rotation, and stock organization to support the whole team.
• Safety & Sanitation: Maintain a spotless workspace and strictly adhere to Georgia food safety and health code standards.
• Recipe Consistency: Follow exact specifications from the Head Chef/Sous Chef to ensure every guest receives a consistent \"Coastal\" experience.

Requirements

• Experience: 1–3 years of experience in a professional kitchen or high-volume food prep environment.
• Legal: Must be 18+ years of age (required for operating slicers, mixers, and other heavy equipment).
• Mandate Fit: A team-first attitude with zero tolerance for gossip and a high drive for Collaboration.
• Skills: Strong knife skills and basic knowledge of kitchen math (scaling recipes).
• Physical: Ability to stand for 6–8 hours and lift up to 50 lbs (crates/bags).
• Reliability: Punctuality is critical; prep is the engine that starts our day.
