Medication Technician

Overview

Lincoln Glen Manor is seeking a dependable and compassionate Medication Technician to support residents in our Assisted Living and Memory Care community. This position is responsible for accurate medication administration and providing daily support that promotes resident safety, dignity, and well-being. The ideal candidate has experience working with older adults and individuals with cognitive impairment and is comfortable following clinical protocols in a professional care setting.

Duties

• Administer medications according to physician orders and community protocols
• Document medication administration and care tasks in the electronic health record
• Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, temperature, and oxygen saturation
• Assist residents with grooming, dressing, toileting, mobility, and meals
• Observe and report changes in condition to wellness or nursing leadership
• Maintain medication carts, supplies, and documentation in accordance with regulatory standards
• Assist with treatments under nurse supervision, such as ointments, glucose checks, and oxygen support
• Follow infection control procedures and safety protocols

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience in assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, or in-home care preferred
• Understanding of dementia care and person-centered communication
• Ability to follow medication orders and individualized care plans accurately
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems (PointClickCare preferred)
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology, vital signs, and infection control practices
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to remain calm and compassionate when supporting residents with cognitive decline
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs and assist with transfers

Pay: $ $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 37.5 per week
