Freelance DevOps Engineer – Remote

This freelance DevOps Engineer role is focused on supporting and optimizing cloud infrastructure for a high-impact project. The position is fully remote and spans 6–12 months, with the potential for extension based on performance. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing AWS environments, automating deployment processes, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of development operations. You will collaborate with development teams to streamline workflows, maintain robust CI/CD pipelines, and support both Linux and Windows-based systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage, monitor, and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure for performance and cost efficiency
• Administer Ubuntu/Linux servers and provide support for Windows Server environments as needed
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
• Develop and manage containerized deployments with Docker and Kubernetes
• Support PHP/Magento environments, ensuring high availability and security
• Write automation scripts to streamline operational processes
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues
• Optionally support Microsoft Azure environments if required
• Ensure best practices in security, backup, and disaster recovery

Skills And Requirements

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with a focus on AWS cloud services
• Strong expertise in Ubuntu/Linux administration; familiarity with Windows Server is a plus
• Proficient in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins preferred)
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration
• Experience supporting PHP/Magento environments
• Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar languages
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) is advantageous
• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure is a bonus
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to collaboration
• Availability for a 6–12 month freelance contract, with potential for extension
