Job Description

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in required field or equivalent
• Must hold a current Indiana teaching license
• Teaching experience preferred
• Demonstrates knowledge of subject area content and Indiana Academic standard

Responsibilities

1. Instruction & Curriculum Development

• Plan and deliver lessons that develop students' reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
• Use a variety of teaching strategies to accommodate different proficiency levels.
• Incorporate culturally responsive teaching methods to support diverse backgrounds.
• Modify curriculum and assessments for ELL students to ensure accessibility.

2. Student Assessment & Progress Monitoring

• Assess students' English proficiency levels using standardized and informal assessments.
• Track progress and provide targeted interventions to support language development.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify instruction for ELL students.

3. Classroom & Behavior Management

• Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Establish classroom routines and expectations that promote engagement and language development.
• Use positive reinforcement strategies to encourage participation.

4. Collaboration & Communication

• Work with general education teachers to support ELL students in mainstream classrooms.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and strategies for language support at home.
• Collaborate with school administrators, counselors, and support staff to address students' academic and social-emotional needs.

5. Compliance & Professional Development

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district policies related to ELL instruction.
• Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and required reports.
• Participate in professional development and training on best practices in ELL education.

Pay: $60, $65,000.00 per year
