Direct Care Support (DCS)

Luther Home of Mercy residents, all individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, need you. Established in 1928, our organization provides a comprehensive range of supports to meet each individual's needs.

Here is what you'll get as a DCS:

Ø a starting wage of $17.50 /hr. additional $2.00/hr. for week-end shifts; also, the opportunities for wage increases in as little as 3 months

What You'll Do:

  • Provide essential, compassionate care and assistance at our campus in Williston, OH
  • Assist with daily living activities, including personal care and hygiene
  • Support individuals in developing life skills and fostering independence
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment
  • Help with meal preparation
  • Encourage social engagement and community participation

Hours & Pay:

  • part-time & full-time

· $17.50/hour starting pay

· 1st Shift (6a-10a/6a-2p), 2nd Shift (2p-10p), 3rd Shift (10p-6a) – must train on 1st or 2nd for the first 90 days

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in assisted living, home health, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred
  • Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer's and memory care), and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism
  • Certification in CPR, First Aid, and HIPAA compliance required; additional certifications such as hospice or hospice care experience are a plus
  • Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks involved in patient care
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members, residents, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support individuals in achieving their personal goals
