Veterinary Technician

Veterinary Technician position opening.

We are looking for a full time veterinary technician that would be excited to help jump start a new privately owned hospital. PetSmart Veterinary Services Lake Grove will be a full service veterinary hospital, owned and operated by a caring small animal veterinarian with over 20 years experience.

The vet tech will need to provide a high standard of nursing care working directly with the veterinarian to coordinate the care of canine and feline patients. You will need to be comfortable working directly with clients and the doctor, inducing and monitoring anesthesia, assisting in surgery, performing dental prophys, blood draws, IV catheter placement, performing in house lab work, administering medications, helping ensure that the hospital is stocked appropriately, providing leadership to the assistants, and providing excellent customer service.

We will use a team approach with proper communication to provide outstanding client and patient care. Animal handling and computer skills will be vital. Applicants must be passionate about quality patient care, have good written & verbal communication skills, and be able to effectively manage a diverse and varied caseload. Your full time schedule will be 4 1/2 days a week including Saturdays as the half day, with Sunday and Mondays off. Offering $25 - 27/hr based on experience, along with a monthly stipend for health and benefits support.
