We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Picker/Packers to join our dynamic logistics team in Des Moines, Iowa. As a Picker/Packer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers receive their orders accurately and on time. This position requires physical stamina and a keen eye for detail. You will be responsible for accurately picking items from warehouse shelves according to order specifications and then carefully packing them for shipment. Your daily tasks will involve operating manual and electric pallet jacks, scanning items, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Adherence to all safety protocols is paramount in this role. We are committed to providing a safe and productive workplace, and this includes ensuring all employees understand and utilize the provided PPE. The ability to perform repetitive lifting tasks throughout your shift is essential. This role is fundamental to our logistics operations and offers a fantastic opportunity for growth within our company. You will work closely with inventory management systems and contribute to overall warehouse efficiency. Successful candidates will have a strong work ethic, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick orders using a scanner and order sheets.
- Pack items securely and efficiently for shipment.
- Verify product codes and quantities.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and utilize appropriate PPE.
- Perform repetitive lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment as needed.
- Contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation.
- Ensure all shipments meet company standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous warehouse or picking experience preferred.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety procedures.
- Basic computer skills for scanning and order tracking.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Willingness to wear required PPE, including safety shoes and vests.
