Our Des Moines, Iowa facility is looking for experienced Forklift Operators to join our dynamic logistics team. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within our warehouse. Your primary duties will include loading and unloading trucks, transporting goods to and from storage areas, and assisting with inventory management. We are committed to maintaining a safe work environment, and adherence to all safety regulations, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is mandatory. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe forklift operation, excellent spatial awareness, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced logistics setting. You will work closely with other warehouse staff to ensure smooth and timely operations. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to move, stack, and unstack materials.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and accurately.
- Transport raw materials and finished goods to designated areas.
- Assist with receiving, put-away, and order picking processes.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area around forklift operations.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including mandatory PPE usage.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely order fulfillment.
- Participate in inventory counts and help maintain inventory accuracy.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional Lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and safety procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and spatial awareness.
- Commitment to workplace safety and accident prevention.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
