We are seeking a meticulous Inventory Clerk for our Detroit, Michigan facility. This position is vital for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory, which is fundamental to our logistics operations. Your responsibilities will include receiving, verifying, storing, and tracking inventory items. You will conduct regular cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and ensure that our inventory management system is up-to-date. A sharp eye for detail and strong organizational skills are essential for success. You will work closely with the warehouse team to optimize stock levels and support efficient material flow. Compliance with all safety regulations and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory. This role involves tasks requiring manual dexterity and occasional lifting.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and accurately record incoming inventory.
- Organize and stock inventory in designated warehouse locations.
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain organized inventory storage areas.
- Update inventory records in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Generate inventory reports for management.
- Collaborate with the logistics team to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Assist with tasks that may involve lifting items up to 35 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an Inventory Clerk or in a similar warehouse role.
- Proficiency with inventory management software or WMS.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Accurate data entry and record-keeping abilities.
- Basic understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Commitment to workplace safety and use of PPE.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring standing and moderate physical activity.
