Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and diligent Inventory Control Specialist to join our logistics team in Des Moines, Iowa. This role is crucial for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse stock. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management, including conducting frequent cycle counts, investigating and resolving discrepancies, managing stock levels, and ensuring precise data entry within our Warehouse Management System (WMS). A keen eye for detail and a methodical approach are essential for success. You will collaborate closely with warehouse associates and management to streamline inventory processes and ensure efficient operations. Safety is a top priority; all team members must strictly adhere to safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and contribute to a secure working environment. While this role is analytical, comfort within a warehouse setting and the ability to perform tasks that may involve occasional lifting of up to 35 lbs are necessary. Expertise with WMS software and a solid understanding of logistics operations are highly valued. Your dedication to accuracy and efficiency will be vital to our supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly and thoroughly.
  • Maintain and update inventory records accurately in the WMS.
  • Monitor stock levels, identify potential stockouts, and report findings.
  • Implement and enforce established inventory control procedures.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
  • Coordinate with operational teams to ensure efficient material handling and storage.
  • Ensure proper organization and storage of all inventory items.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and the proper use of PPE.
  • Assist in training warehouse personnel on inventory-related tasks.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education in a related field is a plus.
  • Previous experience in inventory control, warehousing, or logistics.
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
  • Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of warehouse operations and safety procedures, including PPE.
  • Capability for occasional lifting of up to 35 lbs.
