We are seeking a certified and experienced Forklift Operator to join our busy logistics hub in Houston, Texas. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your role is crucial in maintaining the flow of goods within our warehouse, ensuring materials are moved to and from receiving, storage, and shipping areas. You will perform routine inspections of your forklift and adhere strictly to all safety regulations, including the mandatory use of PPE. This position requires a keen eye for detail, excellent maneuverability, and a strong commitment to safety in a demanding warehouse environment. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, electric, propane) to transport materials.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers.
- Move materials to and from storage areas, production areas, or shipping docks.
- Perform routine pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any issues.
- Stack and organize merchandise in designated areas.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation.
- Adhere to all safety rules and regulations, including proper use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Follow directions from supervisors regarding material movement.
- Ensure safe practices during all lifting and moving operations.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator in a warehouse or logistics setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of forklift operating procedures and safety guidelines.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
- Excellent spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the correct use of PPE.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
