The Organizational Wellbeing & Policy Coordinator is responsible for the successful advancement of the implementation and sustainable growth of the work associated with the Blue Zones Project. Supporting organizations to adopt the recommended changes to improve well-being and advance measurable outcomes in wellbeing improvement. Policy advocacy, development and oversight of the food environment, grant preparation and execution, and measurement tracking is a key priority of this role. This role fosters relationships and the execution of organization well-being programs in alignment with proven best practices, prevention education and community well-being initiatives. This role works with organizations and the community to maximize participation and engagement of organizations and individuals in well-being related programming while representing Salinas Valley Health in a positive light.
This person will develop and coordinate the delivery of collateral and promotional activities (on- line/off-line) to drive program participation through an engagement strategy developed by the Community & Health Promotion team. The priority focus area is to ensure sustainability of the transitioning Blue Zones Project Monterey County in alignment with the Salinas Valley Health Community Health Needs Assessment priorities.
  • Develop strong relationships with organization groups to encourage their participation and support them with implementation of well-being best practices.
  • Drive comprehensive adoption and advancement of well-being initiatives.
  • Actively work with Health Promotion and community partners to maintain momentum and advancement of the foundational Blue Zones Project impact.
  • Ensure coordination and integration of the organizational strategies and group initiatives to maximized and leveraged to drive well-being improvement.
  • Develop and meet monthly targets.
  • Prioritize Community Heath Needs Assessment identified priorities in all outreach

  • Compile organization performance/value measures, outcomes and community impact stories.
  • Ability to work with all levels of organizations and civic groups to secure ongoing participation and utilization of the appropriate tools and resources.
  • Ability to represent Salinas Valley Health with partners, the public, and media.
  • Utilize strong project management skills to ensure initiative strategies stay on track and within budget.
  • Set the standard for behavior and promote a positive working environment and attitude internally and externally.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education: Position requires High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience/Knowledge : Three years of well-being program experience required. Healthcare experience preferred.
Substantial knowledge of:
• Well-being principles, theories and practices.
• Laws, regulations and Salinas Valley Health guidelines pertaining to marketing and communication.
Organizational Well-Being and Policy Coordinator
• Knowledge of industry standard communication tools for professional material development and
production.
• Fiscal management skills to prepare, monitor and control budgets and reduce expenses.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, Smartsheet and Basecamp.
• Previous experience collaborating with community partners.
• Program development and application.
• Excellent communication skills, written and oral.
• Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
• Ability to work in fast paced environment while remaining detailed oriented and flexible.
• Bilingual preferred.
Interpersonal Skills:
• Communicate effectively both orally and in writing to diverse groups and individuals.
• Work effectively with administration, employees, community members, community partners and
medical staff.
• Identify and analyze service line needs to provide thoughtful recommendations/solutions.
• Make independent decisions and provide counsel and advice to Leadership.
• Exercise good judgment and tact in providing leadership, guidance, and assistance.
Pay Range: The hourly rate for this position is $40.43 - $50.54. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the target for new hire salaries for this position.
