We are hiring an experienced Forklift Operator for our distribution facility in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role is essential for the efficient movement of materials within our warehouse. You will operate forklifts to load and unload trucks, move inventory to and from storage areas, and assist with order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of safe forklift operation, excellent spatial awareness, and a thorough understanding of warehouse procedures. Certification on various types of forklifts is highly desirable. You will be responsible for inspecting your forklift before each shift and reporting any maintenance needs. Safety is our top priority; therefore, adherence to all traffic and safety regulations within the warehouse is mandatory. This includes the consistent use of required PPE , such as hard hats and safety vests. The nature of this role involves frequent Lifting of items via the forklift, as well as occasional manual handling. Experience in a fast-paced logistics environment is a significant advantage. We are looking for a reliable and safety-conscious individual who can contribute to our team's success. This is a fantastic opportunity to operate essential machinery in a busy warehouse.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve inventory.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers efficiently.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections of forklifts.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Keep the warehouse organized and ensure clear pathways.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and the use of required PPE .
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
