We are hiring a dedicated Picker/Packer to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. In this essential role, you will be responsible for accurately selecting items from warehouse shelves to fulfill customer orders and then meticulously packing them for shipment. Precision, speed, and attention to detail are crucial for success in this position. You will work within a fast-paced environment, contributing directly to customer satisfaction by ensuring orders are correct and efficiently prepared. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from designated locations based on order sheets or scanning devices.
- Verify picked items against order details to ensure accuracy.
- Pack items securely and efficiently, selecting appropriate packaging materials to prevent damage during transit.
- Label packages correctly for shipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work station and contribute to overall warehouse organization.
- Operate pallet jacks or other hand trucks for moving items as needed.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Meet established productivity goals for picking and packing.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a picker or packer in a warehouse environment is preferred but not required.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic reading and counting skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Understanding of warehouse safety practices and willingness to use PPE.
- Reliability and punctuality.
