Our growing logistics and distribution center in Detroit, Michigan, is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. This includes conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, performing stock adjustments, and implementing procedures to minimize loss and optimize stock levels. You will work closely with warehouse associates and management to maintain efficient inventory processes. A sharp analytical mind, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to accuracy are essential. This position requires a strong understanding of inventory management systems and best practices within a logistics environment. Your diligence will directly impact our operational efficiency and financial accuracy. Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Process stock adjustments and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Implement and refine inventory control procedures.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with receiving, shipping, and operations teams.
- Ensure accurate put-away and retrieval of inventory.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Commitment to safety and proper PPE usage.
