Our Tampa, Florida facility is looking for an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our logistics team. This critical role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and optimal flow of inventory within our warehouse. You will be responsible for developing and implementing inventory control procedures, conducting audits, analyzing stock levels, and identifying areas for improvement. Strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of warehouse operations and logistics are essential. You will work closely with the warehouse management and operations teams to minimize losses, reduce discrepancies, and enhance overall efficiency. Adherence to all safety standards, including the proper use of PPE, and safe practices for lifting and material handling, is paramount. This role requires a proactive approach to inventory management.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement inventory control policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular inventory audits, cycle counts, and physical inventories.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Manage stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) and identify slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
- Investigate and resolve all inventory discrepancies.
- Ensure accuracy of inventory records in the WMS.
- Collaborate with procurement and operations teams on inventory planning.
- Train warehouse staff on inventory control best practices.
- Oversee activities involving lifting and physical inventory counts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in inventory control or management within a logistics or warehouse setting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
- Excellent understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and strict adherence to PPE usage.
- Ability to manage complex tasks and lead initiatives related to inventory.
