We are hiring a skilled Material Handler for our Madison, Wisconsin facility. This role is central to the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse and distribution operations. You will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving raw materials, components, and finished products throughout the facility using various types of equipment. A strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to operate machinery effectively are paramount. This position supports the broader logistics network by ensuring materials are in the right place at the right time.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move, stack, and stage materials.
- Load and unload trucks and containers, ensuring proper securing of loads.
- Transport materials to and from production, storage, and shipping areas.
- Inspect equipment before and after use, reporting any malfunctions or safety concerns.
- Receive, identify, and properly store incoming materials according to established procedures.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, including the mandated use of appropriate PPE.
- Support warehouse operations by performing other tasks as needed to maintain the logistics flow.
- Work closely with production, shipping, and receiving teams to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift operator certification is highly desirable.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, typically up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Solid understanding of warehouse safety practices and procedures.
- Familiarity with inventory control systems is a plus.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be reliable and safety-conscious.
