Overview This is a hybrid role with a requirement to attend County Hall at least one day a week for team collaboration. This is a full-time, permanent role of 37 hours per week, covering hours between 08:00 and 18:00.
Responsibilities
Senior role within the council’s Cyber Security team. The team operates on a rota basis, covering cyber security functions within the detect, prevent and respond framework.
Incident response
Vulnerability management
Security Incident and Event Management
Security and Identity maintenance activities
Forensics and reporting
Identity and Access Management
What kind of experience or qualifications do I need?
Have previous experience of working within a cyber security field, with strong knowledge and skills in computer networking, operating systems and associated hardware.
Ideally, you will also hold relevant qualifications in cyber security and computing, such as a degree in a computing field and Microsoft certifications. You will be committed to continuous self-development and can demonstrate this journey.
You will be comfortable working under pressure, as part of a high-profile team delivering critical services with critical outcomes.
You will be analytical, intuitive, tenacious and have great problem-solving abilities.
You will thrive on being part of an enthusiastic team and hold yourself to high standards of accountability and best practice. You will ‘walk the walk’ and be a positive cyber role model.

The salary for this role is Somerset Grade 10 - £37,280 - £41,771 per annum.
