Job Overview

Dreamchasers Community Services is dedicated to providing safe and reliable transportation for our students. For the upcoming school year, we are currently seeking a responsible and friendly School Transport Driver to join our team and ensure our students arrive at school and home safely, in accordance with New Jersey laws and regulations. This role requires excellent driving skills, the ability to communicate effectively, and a commitment to maintaining the vehicle in optimal condition.

Key Responsibilities

· Safely transport students to school in the morning and return them home in the afternoon, utilizing a company provided 7 passenger van.

· Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with NJ state regulations.

· Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior.

· Monitor students during transport to ensure their safety and well-being.

· Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.

· Adhere to all traffic laws and New Jersey Department of Education transportation policies.

· Assist with loading and unloading students, ensuring the use of safety restraints as required.

Qualifications

· Valid New Jersey driver's license with a clean driving record.

· CDL with a passenger endorsement AND school bus endorsement required

· Previous experience driving a 7 passenger van.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to manage and engage with students in a positive manner.

· CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.

· Must pass a background check and drug screening in accordance with NJ law.

Schedule

· Split shifts: Morning and Afternoon

· Route begins the first week of September when the school year begins
