We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pastry arts, baking, and food presentation, with the ability to create visually stunning and delicious desserts. This role involves preparing a variety of pastries, cakes, and confections while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. The Pastry Chef will also collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely service and exceptional customer experiences in a dynamic food industry environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a wide range of pastries, cakes, tarts, and confections with precision and creativity
- Decorate cakes and desserts using advanced cake decorating techniques to meet presentation standards
- Package finished products attractively for retail or catering purposes
- Assist in food production and food preparation tasks as needed to support kitchen operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station in accordance with food safety regulations
- Ensure all baked goods meet quality standards before serving or packaging
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new dessert recipes and menu items
- Handle food safely, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices
- Support catering events by preparing desserts that align with event themes and client specifications
Skills
- Proven experience in pastry arts, baking, or culinary roles within the food industry or restaurant settings
- Expertise in cake decorating, food presentation, and confectionery techniques
- Strong knowledge of food handling, safety protocols, and sanitation standards
- Skilled in food production, food preparation, and kitchen operations
- Excellent knife skills for precise cutting and decorating tasks
- Familiarity with packaging techniques for retail or catering purposes
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Good customer service skills when interacting with clients or event organizers
- Creative mindset with an eye for aesthetics and flavor balance
- Prior experience in catering or restaurant environments is preferred but not required
Pay: $ $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
