Parts Technician

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Parts Technician is responsible for the processing of parts orders. The Parts Technician is also responsible for stocking received parts, managing parts, managing packing supplies, and working in Assembly after their parts responsibilities are complete.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Read and understand the daily service parts request, including the methods for prioritizing each order.
• Ability to read 3D files and identify proper parts from files/drawings.
• Utilize computer system to acquire parts diagrams for service orders. Must also be able to work from diagrams to create assemblies for service orders i.e. lock assemblies, pressed bearings, etc.
• Ability to assemble mechanical parts/kits prior to packaging for shipment.
• Operate the shipping computer system, generating UPS or Fed Ex paperwork for service items and preparing them for shipment.
• Create unique packaging and palletizing for odd sized items. i.e. cylinders, swingarms, overhead lines etc.
• Demonstrate proficiency in measuring, cutting and bending stainless lines according to customer specs and diagrams. This includes flaring the lines and installing fittings.
• Identify and retrieve parts from multiple locations where service parts may be located.
• Stock parts that are received and manage inventory to restock parts when quantities get low.
• Be proficient in machine shop items for service i.e. build correct seal kits, power units etc.
• Complete DOT Certification training to be able to ship restricted items such as paint.
• Complete fork truck certification and demonstrate proficiency on moving service items such as swingarms and cylinders throughout the facility as well as for weighing items on the floor scale.
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, and SKILLS:

Mandatory:

• HS diploma and a minimum of five (5) years in a full-time service role.
• A minimum of 2 years reading blueprints/CAD files
• Possess the ability to learn hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems used on Mohawk lifts.
• Must be mechanically inclined.
• Must be detail oriented and highly organized.
• Proficient working knowledge of Mohawk's product and services.
• Able to work with minimum supervision.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English language and be understood.
• MRP and UPS/Fedex software experience.

Desired:

• Experience working with hydraulic systems and components or other related industrial product.
• Complex product assembly or product fabrication experience.

• NYS driver's license
• Forklift Certification

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must possess sight/hearing senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Physical activity includes walking, standing, sitting, pushing, pulling, climbing, kneeling, bending, reaching above shoulders and lifting up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Performs this role in both the office and factory on a daily basis. Office activities are performed in a well-lighted and well-ventilated area. Factory activities may be subject to changes in temperature and exposure to dust, above normal noise levels, and electrical equipment.
