Electrician

The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in accordance with local and national electrical codes. This role requires advanced technical skills, the ability to work independently or as part of a team, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency on every job site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
• Ensure work is performed in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), local building codes, and company standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, and technical diagrams.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair.
• Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and codes.
• Train and mentor apprentices and assist in coordinating work with other trades and subcontractors.
• Maintain accurate records of time, materials, and work completed.
• Ensure all tools, materials, and equipment are used and maintained properly.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and promote a safe jobsite environment.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a formal electrical apprenticeship program preferred.
• Valid Journeyman Electrician License (state-specific).
• Minimum 4–5 years of electrical experience.
• Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in various environments, including confined spaces and outdoors in different weather conditions.
