Payroll Administrator

Job Summary

We are seeking a full-time, dedicated Payroll Administrator to join our growing company. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for processing timely payroll for all employees across multiple states. This role ensures proper calculation of regular and overtime hours, job cost coding, per diem, and state-specific taxes and labor requirements. The Payroll Administrator reviews and verifies timecards, allocates labor costs to projects, maintains payroll records, and ensures compliance with federal and state wage and hour laws, including certified payroll for Davis-Bacon projects. This position collaborates closely with project management, human resources, and accounting to ensure accurate job costing, reporting, and audits, and serves as a primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries.

What you need

• High school diploma or equivalent Required
• Prefer two plus years of experience
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Proficiency with the ability to quickly learn payroll software

Responsibilities

• Processes information in the payroll system.
• Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, garnishments, and other deductions.
• Records federal and state payroll tax deposits.
• Records retirement plan contributions.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
