Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including lathes and milling machines, to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will be essential to ensure efficient production processes. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machinery such as CNC lathes and milling machines, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Program CNC machines using CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software and interpret technical drawings or blueprints for accurate production.
- Conduct precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify part dimensions and quality.
- Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles to ensure parts meet design specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment, troubleshoot issues, and make necessary adjustments for continuous operation.
- Utilize tooling, hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment as needed for setup or repair tasks.
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency in the machining process.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines and CNC lathes; familiarity with Fanuc controls is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming, CAM programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical principles.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMMs.
- Solid understanding of GD&T standards and their application in manufacturing processes.
- Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to machining tolerances and measurements.
- Experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding processes, or welding is advantageous but not required.
- Ability to read technical drawings accurately and interpret complex blueprints for precise fabrication.
- Mechanical aptitude with hands-on skills in using hand tools, power tools, tooling setups, and assembly techniques.
