Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory tests using techniques such as ELISA, PCR, flow cytometry, immunoassays, and RNA extraction to analyze biological samples.
- Perform specimen collection and processing, including venipuncture, blood sampling, and blood banking procedures.
- Manage laboratory data through Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), ensuring accurate data entry, analysis, and reporting.
- Maintain strict adherence to laboratory protocols, aseptic techniques, and safety standards to prevent contamination and ensure specimen integrity.
- Assist in clinical trials by preparing assays, managing sample storage, and documenting experimental procedures meticulously.
- Operate and calibrate laboratory equipment such as CT scanners, centrifuges, microscopes, and analyzers; troubleshoot issues promptly.
- Support laboratory management tasks including inventory control, equipment maintenance, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to interpret results and provide insights based on physiology knowledge and medical terminology expertise.
- Ensure proper specimen collection/processing for accurate diagnosis or research purposes while maintaining high standards of professionalism.
Qualifications
- Proven clinical laboratory experience with proficiency in laboratory techniques such as PCR, ELISA, flow cytometry, DNA/RNA isolation, and immunoassays.
- Strong data management skills with experience using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures related to blood banking, phlebotomy, venipuncture, blood sampling, and specimen processing.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology concepts, vital signs measurement, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience working in hospital or research laboratory environments with a focus on clinical trials or diagnostic testing.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with strong data analysis skills to ensure precision in results reporting.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a fast-paced setting while maintaining compliance with safety standards.
