For our client, we are seeking a Engineering Manager Data/ai to join the team of a leader in the Technical Services space. You'll build and maintain systems that power mission-critical Technical Services workflows. You'll collaborate with product and peers to design clean, scalable solutions. This role values craftsmanship, impact, and ownership.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $184,000 – $205,000 annually.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of 6-8 engineers, fostering a culture of trust and collaboration
  • Define success metrics, track progress, and communicate transparently with stakeholders
  • Own the technical direction and long-term vision for the Data/AI team
  • Guide design and implementation of scalable data architectures and pipelines
  • Balance technical debt with new feature development to support long-term goals
  • Collaborate with the Product Manager and Designer to understand customer needs
  • Contribute to the evolution of company's engineering culture

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of software engineering experience, including 2 years in a direct people management role
  • 3-5 years in a Data and/or AI Engineering team
  • Experience building scalable, customer-facing data products using Python, Databricks, Azure, and Kubernetes
  • Strong experience with Data Lakehouse technologies like Databricks and Apache Spark
  • Understanding of Data Science concepts in Machine Learning and Generative AI
  • Self-driven, accountable leader with an empathetic approach
  • Ability to communicate complex technical ideas clearly to diverse audiences
