The Electrical Engineer I supports the design, integration, and testing of electrical systems for aircraft modification and sustainment projects, primarily within military and government contracts. This role involves hands-on support throughout the development lifecycle, including system design, electrical load analysis, verification, and on-site Implementation. The engineer collaborates closely with senior staff, technical teams, and field personnel to ensure compliance with all technical standards, engineering requirements, and customer expectations. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to manage multiple technical tasks In a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and evaluate electrical components, wiring diagrams, and interface systems in support of aircraft modification and testing
- Perform aircraft-specific electrical load analysis and risk assessments
- Assist in developing test procedures, Including EMI/EMC plans, Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs), and system/subsystem test plans
- Support prototyping efforts, Including harness design, power distribution validation, and electrical Integration
- Provide engineering support during test execution and generate post-test documentation and recommendations
- Develop detailed engineering source data such as installation instructions, block diagrams, and schematics for technical publications
- Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback to refine and improve system performance
- Support fabrication and verification of test control apparatus and related test equipment
- Research and define appropriate testing methods, procedures, and configurations based on system requirements
- Participate In Installation, field testing, and troubleshooting activities as needed
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) and modeling software to produce and review engineering deliverables
- Maintain organized engineering records, including design data, configuration control documents, and test reports
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (BSEE) Required
- At least 1 Year experience with specialized software training in:
- SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA Design software
- Electrical system modeling software (LabView, PSPICE, ORCAD)
- Familiar with electrical system design and integration, especially in aerospace or defense settings
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with aircraft modification or military systems
