Position Overview: AP Computer Science A Teacher

We are seeking experienced AP Computer Science A teachers to work remotely with our students. This is a fully-remote, contractor teaching position focused on the College Board's AP Computer Science A curriculum.

This role is ideally suited for candidates who currently teach AP Computer Science during the school day and are looking to do some extra teaching during after-school hours and on weekends throughout the academic year (September - May). Teachers are expected to commit to a minimum of 2 teaching hours per week.

Essential Qualifications

• Geographic Eligibility: Candidates from both the United States and Canada are encouraged to apply.
• AP Teaching Experience: Proven teaching experience in AP Computer Science A (focused on Java programming) in a reputable school or educational setting is mandatory.
• Curriculum Knowledge: Must be up-to-date with the curriculum changes for the school year and beyond.
• Online Proficiency: Highly proficient in utilizing online teaching tools, virtual learning environments, and collaboration platforms.
• Availability: Must have reliable after-school and weekend availability during the core academic period (September - May).

Responsibilities

• Develop, prepare, and deliver engaging AP Computer Science A lessons that align with College Board standards and best practices.
• Provide high-quality instruction to small classes, typically ranging from 1 to 12 students.
• Actively work to promote and nurture students' interest and foundational skills in computer science.
• Provide timely, detailed, and constructive feedback on student homework and programming assessments.
