The Community Aide Worker supports adults in day programs or group homes by promoting their development and well-being. The role focuses on helping clients with physical, social, emotional, and life skills development to increase their independence. Key responsibilities include providing behavior management, crisis intervention, and life skills training, both individually and in groups. The worker also plans and implements recreational, social, and educational activities to engage clients in a positive and enjoyable atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients in developing daily living skills and participating in recreational, social, and educational activities.
  • Monitor clients' well-being, including providing support for personal hygiene and life skills.
  • Recognize and address crisis or emergency situations, ensuring the safety of clients and staff.
  • Work with case management to identify potential issues and contribute to the development of client program plans.
  • Provide emotional support, feedback, and behavior management to clients.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to clients' activities and progress.
  • Collaborate with other agencies and community resources to support client needs.
  • Assist clients with transportation to appointments and other personal tasks.
  • Create a fun, supportive environment to encourage client participation in programs.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma (Associate's degree preferred).
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health issues or substance use history.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understanding of social determinants of health and community health issues.
  • Empathy, patience, and flexibility when working with clients.
  • Ability to motivate and empower clients to advocate for themselves and manage their health.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

  • Federal and Department of Justice fingerprint clearance.
  • Pass drug screening and tuberculosis test.
  • Ability to be insured at standard automobile rates.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand, sit, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Effective communication and manual dexterity for tasks like handling equipment and documents.
  • Mental acuity to perform duties accurately and safely.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $30.00 per hour
