Join Our Team at Southern Steer Butcher – Ocoee, FL

At Southern Steer Butcher, our mission is to provide the highest quality meats and sides that deliver an extraordinary dining experience for our customers. We are looking for a Butcher/Meat Cutter with proficiency in cutting subprimals into roasts and restaurant quality steaks and preparing dishes from a recipe.

This is a retail butcher role, not a backroom only job.

We are hiring a meat cutter who is comfortable working directly with customers and has hands-on experience using:

• Bandsaws
• Commercial grinders
• Sausage stuffing equipment

If you do not have real cutting room experience, this is not the role for you.

This is a fast-paced, physically demanding environment. You will:

• Break down subprimals
• Use bandsaw daily
• Grind meat and prepare fresh sausage
• Manage case display, rotation, and food safety
• Assist with food preparation (generally no cooking required)
• Perform inventory management and stocking
• Lift up to 60 lbs (most lifting is between 20-50 lbs)
• Stand for up to 8 hours

Team culture expectations; Everyone:

• Does dishes
• Helps with housekeeping
• Participates in closing duties
• Cleans workspaces and common areas

(This includes management and ownership. We lead by example.)

Hours: Includes weekends + holiday season (mandatory, it's our busiest time of year)

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• customer service: 2 years (Required)
• food service: 2 years (Required)
• whole loin cutting (e.g. short loin, tenderloin, etc.): 1 year (Required)
• bandsaw working: 1 year (Required)
• sausage making: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Food Handler Certification (Preferred)

Ability to Commute:

• Ocoee, FL Required)
