Our client is seeking a Licensed Customs Broker with Drawback specialization to join their growing freight forwarding operation in Atlanta, GA. This role is responsible for managing U.S. Customs compliance with a strong focus on duty drawback programs, ensuring maximum duty recovery for clients while maintaining full regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate combines technical drawback expertise with strong client service and operational knowledge within a freight forwarding environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee duty drawback programs (manufacturing, unused merchandise, rejected merchandise, etc.) in compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations
  • Prepare, file, and track drawback claims through CBP (including ACE submissions)
  • Review import and export documentation to ensure accuracy and eligibility for drawback claims
  • Conduct drawback audits, reconciliations, and internal reviews to minimize risk and maximize recoveries
  • Act as a subject matter expert on drawback regulations, rulings, and compliance best practices
  • Communicate with CBP, clients, vendors, and internal teams regarding drawback and customs matters
  • Support general customs brokerage activities as needed, including classification, valuation, and admissibility guidance
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of U.S. trade regulations, FTZs, and duty recovery programs
  • Assist with client onboarding, compliance training, and process improvement initiatives

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Active U.S. Customs Broker License (required)
  • Minimum 3–5 years of customs brokerage experience, with demonstrated drawback specialization
  • Strong working knowledge of CBP regulations, ACE, and drawback filing procedures
  • Experience working within a freight forwarder or customs brokerage environment
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and documentation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple claims and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with high-volume drawback programs
  • Familiarity with FTZ operations and other duty recovery strategies
  • Prior client-facing or consulting experience
