We are seeking an experienced, skilled and motivated carpenter to join our team in the residential construction industry. In this role, you will be responsible for executing a wide range of carpentry tasks with precision and efficiency. Your expertise will contribute to delivering high-quality projects across various sectors, including residential remodeling and restoration. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your hands-on skills in a fast-paced environment while helping clients restore and improve their properties.
Responsibilities
- Read designs and/or drawings as they are provided and plan daily work as it is assigned by supervisor
- Create cut sheets for materials to complete a project or portion of a project.
- Perform carpentry tasks such as framing, sheathing, drywall, door and window installation, and trim carpentry
- Deliver work up to the standards required for high-end construction, working within the tolerances allowed by the desired final product.
- Execute trim, framing carpentry with attention to detail.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment safely and effectively
- Install fixtures such as doors, cabinets, siding, roofing materials, and flooring
- Conduct concrete forming, masonry work, rebar installation, and plastering as required for projects
- Engage in general renovation activities
- Assist with plumbing, electrical work, HVAC systems, and other specialized trades as needed
- Perform heavy lifting safely to move materials or equipment on-site
- Apply caulking, stucco finishing, siding installation, and roofing techniques to ensure quality finishes
- Contribute to the fabrication of custom components using woodworking or metalworking skills
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret Architectural plans
- Aptitude with all basic hand tools and power tools, hammers, saws, chisels, drills, etc.
- Communication skills - Ability to understand and communicate complex information in a way that supervisors and laborers understand
- Ability to frame walls, floors, ceilings, roofs, sheath. Basic understanding of requirements for structural code and design intent.
- Ability to begin with the end in mind. Create conditions for seamless transition to the next phase of the project. You're responsible for the next stage in the project having the requirements for installation of materials and/or finished surfaces.
- Ability to execute work from blueprints.
- Knowledge of level/square/plumb requirements, and aptitude for utilizing the tools of a carpenter to achieve the desired outcomes
- Proven experience in carpentry (including trim and framing), and general construction site work
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, CNC machinery (if applicable), and fabrication techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely for extended periods during project execution
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of construction work
- Valid certifications or licenses related to construction trades are advantageous but not mandatory
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients
