Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Cycle Counter to join our supply chain and warehouse management team. This role is essential in maintaining accurate inventory levels, optimizing stock accuracy, and supporting overall logistics operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong data analysis skills, experience with warehouse management systems, and a solid understanding of inventory control processes. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to process improvement initiatives and enhance supply chain efficiency within a dynamic distribution environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular cycle counts across warehouse locations to ensure inventory accuracy and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, AS400, and SQL databases to extract, analyze, and visualize inventory data using tools like Power BI and Tableau.
  • Perform root cause analysis on inventory variances and collaborate with procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams to resolve issues.
  • Support demand planning, stock replenishment, and materials handling activities by providing accurate inventory data.
  • Assist in process improvement projects related to inventory management, category management, and supply chain analytics.
  • Coordinate with purchasing and supplier management teams to verify stock levels and support sourcing decisions.
  • Maintain detailed records of inventory movements, adjustments, and cycle count results for audit compliance.
  • Participate in shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, and materials management activities as needed.
  • Support the implementation of best practices in inventory control, stocking strategies, and demand forecasting.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles, warehouse distribution, and inventory control processes.
  • Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms (including AS400), SQL, Power BI, Tableau, and other data visualization tools.
  • Experience with procurement strategies, sourcing, contract management, and supplier relationships.
  • Data mining, data collection, analytics skills including root cause analysis and financial modeling.
  • Familiarity with logistics operations such as shipping & receiving, materials handling, order fulfillment, production planning, and 3PL coordination.
  • Ability to perform detailed analysis using tools like Nielsen data or demand planning software; experience with MRP systems is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle heavy lifting when necessary; attention to detail is critical for accuracy in inventory counts.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills combined with process improvement expertise to optimize supply chain functions.
  • Knowledge of retail management concepts including merchandising and e-commerce logistics is advantageous.
