Tax Accountant

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join our team in a full-time hybrid setup. This role is ideal for a licensed CPA or Enrolled Agent with strong bookkeeping and tax expertise, extensive experience preparing business and individual tax returns, and the ability to support both clients and our internal tax team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze client bookkeeping for accuracy, completeness, and tax readiness
• Prepare business and individual tax returns
• Assist with tax planning, ensuring clients are properly advised throughout the year
• Handle IRS and state notices, including follow-ups, responses, and resolving tax issues
• Contact IRS and state agencies on behalf of clients for case updates and resolutions
• Support the internal team with tax projects, case resolutions, and file reviews
• Review any prior work completed by external or previous accountants to ensure accuracy
• Communicate with clients to gather necessary documents, clarify questions, and provide updates

Qualifications:

• Must be a licensed CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA)
• Minimum of 3 years of tax accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and compliance
• Extensive experience preparing both business and personal tax returns
• Strong bookkeeping knowledge with the ability to review books for tax preparation
• Experience with tax planning and advising clients
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online
• ProSeries experience is a major plus
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Strong client service mindset and attention to detail

Schedule:

• Full-time, remote set-up
• Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 6 PM EST
• Must be available to work additional hours during tax season

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 per year

Experience:

• Bookkeeping: 3 years (Required)
• QuickBooks: 2 years (Preferred)
• ProSeries: 1 year (Preferred)
• Tax/Accounting: 3 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• CPA or EA (Required)
