Summary
Invictus is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support advanced analytics and AI enabled data initiatives within a consumer banking environment. This role focuses on building scalable data models, semantic layers, and analytics pipelines that enable actionable insights across lending and credit products.
The ideal candidate is deeply skilled in SQL and data modeling, comfortable working across the full data delivery lifecycle, and able to translate complex technical outputs into meaningful business insights. This role serves as a bridge between data platforms and business stakeholders and plays a key role in supporting responsible AI adoption and modern analytics capabilities. This is a hybrid role in Tysons, Virginia.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize semantic data models in Snowflake to support advanced analytics and AI driven insights
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines using SQL, Python, and Snowflake
- Extract, transform, and integrate data from multiple internal and external sources to support analytics and modeling use cases
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, channel leads, and data stewards to translate requirements into data products and models
- Enhance and integrate Tableau dashboards with predictive and AI driven insights
- Apply data governance practices to ensure data quality, lineage, and regulatory compliance
- Document methodologies, data models, and technical decisions to ensure transparency and reproducibility
- Present findings, insights, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Participate in Agile delivery including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives using JIRA
- Work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative analytics and engineering team
Required Skills and Key Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Minimum of four years of experience in data engineering, advanced analytics, or business intelligence, including at least one year supporting AI or ML initiatives
- Strong expertise in SQL and data modeling techniques for analytics and reporting use cases
- Hands on experience with Snowflake, Python, and Tableau Desktop or Tableau Prep
- Experience building and maintaining semantic layers and analytics data products
- Familiarity with consumer banking or lending products such as auto loans, personal loans, student loans, or credit cards is preferred
- Experience with data governance tools such as Ataccama or Collibra is highly preferred
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate, tune, and support data driven models
- Proven ability to communicate technical concepts and business impact clearly to stakeholders
- Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and creativity in solving business problems
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Five or more years of experience delivering end to end data solutions from SQL based data modeling to BI dashboards
- Deep understanding of how data products support business strategy and decision making
- Comfortable serving as a liaison between technical data platforms and business leaders
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience presenting to senior leadership
- Able to balance technical execution with business relevance and stakeholder alignment
