POSITION SUMMARY: The Polymer Center Quality Control Laboratory Technician produces the analytical data from materials received or processed through the Polymer Center. This includes completing routine analytical and laboratory testing in support of the Operations teams, and documenting results in databases and/or communicating to others.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works to remove unsafe conditions or situations from the Polymer Center Quality Control Laboratory.
General ability to operate lab equipment focused on physical, mechanical, and thermal property testing for rigid materials.
Verify testing data to properly identify outliers within the data.
Input data into databases daily and navigate data collection system.
Run calibration checks, preventive maintenance tasks, and simple repair to analytical instrumentation.
Report to management on the performance of the quality management system.
Ensure compliance programs for all individual testing.
Handle clerical, administrative, technical or customer support issues under general supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
Ability to read and interpret documents (safety rules, operating & maintenance manuals, etc.).
Write routine reports and correspondence.
Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
Serves as a positive representative of the Company to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty to the Company.
Creates a collaborative, communicative team environment and drives employee engagement with the Company.
Performs other job-related duties as needed or assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 1 year of experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
Good customer services skills to meet and exceed customer expectations; acts in a professional, courteous, and cooperative manner toward customers and co-workers; works with a sense of honesty and trustworthiness.
Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner.
Good follow through ability; ability to adhere to work schedule and follows through on challenges as they arise.
Basic computer skills with ability to use varying types of software including basic Microsoft Office skills.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 1 year of quality control laboratory, manufacturing, or recycling experience
