Pharmacy Technician

The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting the Pharmacist with medication preparation, packaging, and inventory management in the pharmacy.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist the Pharmacist with filling and packaging medication orders.
• Handle inventory, including restocking, organizing, and monitoring supplies.
• Ensure compliance with all licensure, federal, state, and local regulations, following pharmacy policies and best practices.
• Report product incidents in accordance with pharmacy policy.
• Participate in inspections and surveys conducted by authorized agencies.
• Support pharmacy performance improvement initiatives as directed.
• Attend in-service education programs and pursue continuing education relevant to the role.
• Report any misconduct or suspicious activities to the Compliance Officer.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Organizational skills sufficient to maintain consistently accurate records.
• Ability to evaluate options and to make efficient decisions.
• Current knowledge of all applicable state and federal pharmacy laws, rules, and regulations.
• Computer skills that include proficiency with spreadsheets and use of the internet, as well as word processing, and efficient use of the internet and e-mail.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in California, required.
• Experience with Specialty, Infusion, and Mail Order, preferred.
• Experience with CPR+ and CareTend BI, preferred.
