Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Cashier to join our team in a fast-paced grocery store environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills and have a passion for providing a positive shopping experience. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for accurately processing transactions, assisting customers, and maintaining the overall appearance of the checkout area.

Duties

• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process transactions efficiently and accurately.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed.
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly and addressing their inquiries.
• Assist with product demonstrations to promote new items and encourage sales.
• Upsell products by effectively communicating promotions and special offers to customers.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area, ensuring all merchandising displays are well-stocked and appealing.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact positively with customers and team members.
• Familiarity with retail math concepts to assist in inventory management and sales tracking.
• Knowledge of phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone.
• A proactive attitude towards upselling products to enhance customer satisfaction.
